Photo Friday submission, Rare. Shot in the New Hampshire forest around Goose Pond near Keene while hiking with Lori. Credit goes to her for spotting the little guy doing his best to hide under rotting limb. Red efts are baby red-spotted newts, who spend their adult lives underwater after starting out briefly as land dwellers (exactly the opposite of most salamanders).
