Left Behind

On a recent hike I happened upon this abandoned, and broken, single flip-flop (would that then be a flip...or a flop, if there's only one?). The placement of the shoe seemed to indicate its owner hurried abandoned it and ran ahead on the worn trail through the grass, eager to reach the road, perhaps. There's a story here I'm sure, but it's up to the imagination to create one since the abandoner is long gone.
