Last-Minute Wonders

lastmin1.jpgIt’s finally upon us, boys and girls: the annual Christmas Eve rush of last-minute shoppers. I can’t knock them too harshly since all too frequently I’ve been one of “them.” But this year I did everything early enough to avoid lastminuteitis. Today walking around Keene I noticed plenty of glossy-eyed desperates obviously still in the grips of indecision (not to mention procrastination). Somehow it all works out well, though, and both naughty and nice come out okay by Christmas morning.

You can also give cash, promises, or an offer of a post-Christmas shopping spree when the sales madness begins (although that could prove costly and expose one to bodily harm). But in case you’re still trying to figure things out, here’s some suggestions taken in New York City and around Keene today evidencing some, ah, “interesting” suggestions for those of you still undecided:

lastmin2.jpg
Reindeer vacuum cleaner cover…or…Fifth Avenue threads for Le Pooch?
lastmin3.jpg
Seriously injured Christmas tree…or…a t-shirt that says it all?
lastmin4.jpg
Alien meditator…or…a four-foot-tall magic mushroom (alas…inedible!)
lastmin5.jpg
Leather bustiere…purses? Why not…Santa in the background seems rather jolly about being next to them!

However you resolve your last-minute gift crisis, here’s wishing you and yours the best of seasonal times together. It’s never about the gifts; it’s always about spending time with loved ones and celebrating the reason for the season together. Happy holidays!
