For those of you who struggle each month to make ends meet, take heart: on a global basis, you’re a very rich person indeed. The Global Rich List Web site will tell you exactly how close you are to the world’s richest person (and get ready for a shock…you’re a lot closer than you might imagine). For instance, the American poverty threshold of $9,300 might mean near starvation in America, but you’re better off than 88% of the rest of the world (i.e., 5.2+ billion people annuallly make less than the American poverty mark). Think about that for a moment, or better yet, go to the site and enter your salary. While this shouldn’t stop you from asking for a raise, it should at least make you stop and count your blessings.
